Hogs walk stress-free as a group onto an elevator car called a gondola which lowers them into an atmosphere of CO2 (carbon dioxide). CO2 is a safe anesthetic used in hospitals. When the gondola returns to floor level the hogs are lying down gently sleeping without movement or sound.
